GEICO is an auto insurance agency serving more than 16 million policy holders with headquarters based in Chevy Chase, Maryland. GEICO strives to provide affordable and dependable insurance policies to those across the US, while also representing customers in their time of need following an accident.
My involvement led to a better design system component search experience, the implementation of new components, and improvements to existing components. I also worked cross-functionally with the product organization team and assisted them as they transitioned into a new company structure focused on creating design resources that were more accessible.
Performed a component audit with GEICO’s design system against 20+ other design systems, identifying any shortcomings both in terms of general UX improvements and UI components
Assisted and trained people in using the design system
Updated + maintained the icon library
Researched use cases + created a high-fidelity prototype of GEICO’s “Quote Recall” component which shortened quote recall duration by 55%
Redesigned GEICO’s design file platform, creating a standardized system that helped product teams better access design resources
